Lesson from the birds!

I have a dear friend, Robin that moved to North Carolina last summer. It seemed we were always busy and didn’t have time to talk with both of us married raising 4 children each. We made a commitment to call each other on Thursday mornings at 6am to pray together for our children and talk some. Robin had been not feeling well for a while and I don’t want to say she was too stubborn to go to the doctor, but it did take her awhile and she found it hard to pray. When she finally went and got the care she needed she felt wonderful and told me this story. I hope I can convey it as well as she did to me.

While laying on the couch early one morning  Robin heard the birds singing. She thought about their beautiful song and how the birds always get up and sing praises to the Lord.  A bird’s nest may be kicked out of a tree or a storm may have came the night before, but somehow they still get up and sing praises. Robin made a commitment to get up each day and sing praises to the Lord just as the birds do each day.

I know our lives and hearts may be troubled with the financial crisis, but we still need to find the good, help each other and sing praises.

Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples!
Sing to him, sing praises to him;
tell of all his wondrous works!

-Psalm 105:1-2

Today’s Lesson: Don’t forget to sing praises and make beautiful music like the birds.

I want to thank Robin for sharing her lesson with all of us.  Have a great day and God’s Blessings, Candy
